Brothers and
Sisters of 503:
I have been in constant communication with President Scott
while he’s been away on business. I’m writing you to bring
attention to his agenda, as well as the responsibilities we
all have as members of this Local.
For the past month or so, your President has been on the
road for countless hours making the necessary political
contacts and connections needed in his position on the
Local, State and Federal levels. It’s extremely important
that President Scott establish these political and business
relationships in order to be successful at the difficult
task of lobbying for Labor and the Members of Local 503.
At the time of this writing, President Scott is in
Washington, DC. He will be going to Capitol Hill tomorrow,
speaking to State Senators and other political leaders
regarding Health Care and ‘The Employee Free Choice Act’
(see our link on the webpage for more information on this
act).
He will be focusing on asking the important questions and
addressing the rising concerns regarding the issues that
have been affecting this Local since his election in 2008.
It’s important that all realize he’s out there fighting for
us at all times, wherever the fight takes him.
Our President's dedication to the membership is evident
through his extensive time spent lobbying, requiring him to
be away from the Union Hall. To assist him in these efforts,
it's vital that every member seek guidance, protection and
representation from the Shop Stewards appointed by this
administration before having to involve our Officers. We
need President Scott dedicating his full attention to
fighting the fight for all of us, leaving it up to our
Stewards to take care of business here on the home front!
Mary Casey, P.S.
